Fri 1/16-Sun 3/8
You may be thinking “Brrrr … it’s too cold to go to the Zoo. We’ll wait until April to check out how all the baby animals born last year there are getting along.” But the Cleveland Metropark Zoo is providing incentive to get out there now with the return of its Winter Wonder Weekends.
For a start there’s a heated shuttle service called the Zoo Loop taking visitors throughout the Zoo so you don’t have to trek from area to area in the cold. There are added stops on weekends so you can check out areas such as the African Elephant Crossing, the Wilderness Trek, the African Savanna and the Circle of Wildlife Carousel where there will be free rides all weekend.
In addition, there will be extra animal keeper talks, sharing how they tend to animals such as koalas and tigers, and special opportunities to learn more about them, such as guided walks in Wilderness Trek, scavenger hunts and elephant baths at African Elephant Crossing. Stop in Wolf Lodge for story time, as well as crafts and oher family-friendly activities. And there are discounts on hot chocolate and pretzels,
