The first full of the year is called the Wolf Moon, so called because wolves do a lot of howling in winter to communicate with each other while they hunt. Summit Metro Parks’ “Howling at the Moon” event is a nighttime walk in the dark over the Coyote Run Trail at Liberty Park in Twinsburg, where a naturalist will lead the group through the woods while sharing facts, myths and traditional tales about the moon and most likely how it impacts the creatures down below.
Meet at the Liberty Park Nature Center to join the 1.2-mile hike over a paved trail. After the walk, the group will return to the nature center to drink hot chocolate by the fire and share their own stories. It’s free and open to all. For more information call 330-865-8065.
