There’s One Last Chance to See Graffiti Artist-Turned-Muralist Bob Peck’s Show at Graffiti HeArt

Sun 11/16 @ noon-2PM

If your eyes have been at all open, you’ve seen the work of Bob Peck around town. Unlike many of the pedestrian, somewhat anonymous murals popping up everywhere, his angular, movement-filled style is uniquely his. Like many of the better local mural artists, he started out as an “outlaw” doing graffiti before people started to pay attention and commission his work.

He’s put together what he calls a “retrospective showcase” of his work (even though he’s more mid-career),  taking place, appropriately at Graffiti HeArt, an organization dedicated to getting people to take graffiti taggers seriously as artists. Originally planned as a one-night-only event in early November, the art has been left up giving people a second chance to see it before it’s taken down.

In the Blink of an Eye is a solo show that will include his work from the 1990s through today. The ground floor of the two-story space will feature prints of the graffiti art he did around town in the ’90s and ’00s, along with sketchbooks and other original pieces from that same era. Walk up the stairs and you’ll see a mix of artwork, from abstract paintings to prints of some of his public art, to three-dimensional and sculptural work.  There will also be narrative blurbs on both floors sharing the background of the pieces, and how Peck’s work evolved on the street and in his studio.

Come down to Graffiti HeArt between noon and 12pm Sunday!
