Medina Jumps to the Head of the Line with its All-Weekend Community Holiday Celebration

Fri 11/21-Sun 11/23

Once again, it’s holiday party time in downtown Medina when the Square lights up with holiday decorations and all are invited to take part in the 41st Annual Candlelight Walk.

On Friday night, the lights will be lit on the Gazebo and Square, with outgoing mayor Dennis Hanwell doing the honor of flicking on the Gazebo switch, with 2,400 luminaries lighting up the Square.

The Holiday Parade of Lights kicks off Saturday, with the Light Up the Nights Fireworks concluding the action, and in between Santa will touch down. Stick around for carriage rides, live reindeer and visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus on Sunday, concluding with Carols by Candlelight at St. Paul Episcopal Church from 6-7pm, followed by a dessert reception.

All weekend there will be holiday-related activities going on at downtown businesses, ranging from photo ops with the Grinch and Cindy Lou, to free s’mores and hot chocolate, to cookie decorating games, letters to Santa, and yes — there will be face painting! There’ll be lots of music as well including caroling by local students. Go here for a full schedule of activities.
