Fri 10/31-Sun 11/16
David Auburn’s 2000 play Proof revolves around a brilliant mathematics professor who also faced mental illness, and his daughter’s struggle with the two issues herself, as she cares for him prior to his early death and develops a relationship with one of his former students who is delving into her father’s notebooks, launching a tug of war over his accomplishments.
Directed by longtime Ensemble Theatre artist August Scarpelli now artistic director of Western Reserve Playhouse, Proof features Richard Perloff, making his Ensemble debut in the role of Robert, the father, and at the other end of the spectrum, Ensemble’s own executive artists director Celeste Cosentino in the role of his daughter Catherine.
Performance take place John Carroll University’s Marinello Little Theatre Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sunday at 2pm through Sunday November 16. Get tickets here.
