Fri 8/1-Sun 8/3
Just as Island Green Week (August 2-9) is launching, focusing on the environmental stewardship of the Lake Erie Islands (Put-in-Bay, Middle Bass, Kelleys and Gibraltar), the Perry Group (a volunteer nonprofit group working to commemorate the Battle of Lake Erie) and the Miller Boat Line are offering something a little offbeat on Put-in-Bay: a visit from the World’s Largest Rubber Duck.
The inflatable duck is a huge 61 feet tall, 64 feet wide, and 74 feet long. Her inflatable 10-foot-tall fledging son Timmy will be in tow. They’ll be stationed at the corner of Lnagram and Meechen roads, just up Langram Road from the Miller Boat Line’s ferry dock. You can rent a bicycle or a golf cart right next to the dock, or you can even walk! There will also be family-friendly games, food and souvenir duck memorabilia available for purchase, sporting the Put-in-Bay slogan, “Don’t Give Up the Ship. Photo ops are welcomed!
