Cleveland-based dance company Dance Evert is hosting an ambitious evening of dance that it promises will “explore the themes of environmental stewardship, sustainability and the human impact on climate change,” sure to be an eye-opener for anyone who thought dance was all about swans, fairytales and pretty stage pictures.
In the performance called “Confluence — A Coming Together,” Tom Evert, Susana Weingarten Evert’s Espiral Dance and Meghan Hass will be joined by guest companies Ballet Excel Ohio and Nehemiah Spencer’s Reflections Dance Theatre.
Ticketholders will not only have the chance to meet the cast onstage following the performance, but they’ll also be able to browse informational booths hosted by local environmental organizations and activists. The event takes place at the Shore Cultural Center in Euclid. Go here for tickets and information.
