BlueWater Orchestra Program Features Two Cleveland Orchestra Clarinetists

Sat 3/1 @ 7:30PM

Sun 3/2 @ 3PM

Cleveland’s BlueWater Chamber Orchestra brings its next concert in its 15th season to University Circle’s Church of the Covenant and Lake Erie College’s Morley Music Hall in Painesville this weekend.

Its special guests will be Cleveland Orchestra clarinet players Afendi Yusuf, the orchestra’s principal clarinetist, and Amy Zoloto (playing basset horn), who will be on hand to join them for Felix Mendelssohn’s rarely heard Konzertstück, Op. 113 and 114. The program also features works by two 20th century composers: German-American Paul Hindemith’s 1927 Five Pieces for String Orchestra and Alberto Ginastera’s 1953 Variaciones Concertantes, which is built around the folk music of his native Argentina.

BlueWater Artistic Director Daniel Meyer conducts the program. Tickets are “pay what you wish.”  Get them here or at the door.
