This is the time of year when we’re flooded with benefits, requests for money and suggestions for charitable donations. (It would be nice to spread them out throughout the year.) But an upcoming benefit show at the Grog shop has a bit of a different twist.
Called “Hats for the Homeless,” it features a local craftsperson Rebecca Kimble of Rebecca’s Hats who sells her crocheted hats, and for each one she sells, she donates one to a homeless shelter. This show will feature her hats, and they will presumably be for sale so you can take part in helping the homeless.
Meanwhile at this “rock & reggae” show, you can enjoy the music of reggae band Shake (pronounced Shaky) Ground, which features some of the area’s most notable reggae scene veterans, almost all of who are veterans of popular 80/90s band First Light, Ziggy D from funk/punk reggae rockers C-Level, rockers Dead Beat Horse and local original reggae sextet Lake Irie.
It’s an all-ages show; get tickets here.
