Tremont Arts & Cultural Fest Showcases the Neighborhood’s Offerings

Sat 9/21 @ noon-7PM

Sun 9/22 @ noon-5PM

The Tremont Arts and Cultural Fest, which debuted 25 years ago when Tremont was the hottest arts neighborhood in Cleveland, is back this weekend to show that, even though things have changed and a lot of the artists and galleries have moved on, there’s still a lot going on there.

As usual, the activity radiates out from Lincoln Park’s gazebo onto five walkways or “villages.” There’s the children’s village with hands-on arts activities and educational projects; the community village, featuring area nonprofits and independent merchants and vendors; the cultural village with food from local restaurants and more fair-trade merchants and nonprofits; the Tremont Farms Market featuring some of the local farmers and food producers you can shop from at the weekly Tuesday evening market. And there’s the artists’ village, which features booths from regional arts in a wide variety of mediums from fine art painting, prints, sculpture and more, to jewelry and crafts of various kinds, as well as the inevitable Cleveland-themed stuff.

There are also music and dance performances by local artists both days, including rap, salsa, gymnasts, ballet, spoken word, Greek and Mexican dancers, and the St. Augustine Signing Choir. The festival is free and open to all.
