For nearly 100 years, University Settlement has been providing social services to residents of Slavic Village, one of the poorest communities in Ohio and the epicenter of the foreclosure crisis of the 2000s.
This weekend, it’s holding its 16th Annual Taste of Slavic Village benefit to raise money for its desperately needed programs. At the event, taking place at Bohemian National Hall, attendees will celebrate the area’s history and many cultures, feast on specialty foods from local restaurants, enjoy local entertainment, and have the chance to try for raffle baskets, and take part in a a wine pull.
