Slow Roll Cleveland Ride Explores Little-Used Bike Path on Opportunity Corridor

Mon 9/9 @ 7PM

The Opportunity Corridor opened in November 2021 and as promised, the entire length of it was bounded by a beautiful, wide bike path separated from the road by a grassy strip, a sort of super-sidewalk. In nearly three years of driving the corridor at least once a week, I’ve seen one (1) cyclist on that path. It’s just not well located for either recreational cyclists or those who use bicycles for transportation as they do in the lower-income, less car-owned neighborhood that corridor bisects.

But one day this week, that lovely bike path will be packed with cyclists, as Slow Roll Cleveland takes its weekly Monday ride to that part of town.  The comfortably paced social ride, intended for all ages and levels of cycling, skill and experience, rides through a different neighborhood each week for about 10 miles. A squad of volunteers makes sure everyone is safe and taken care of. The ride rolls out at 7pm; registration starts at 6pm at the meet-up spot at Otter Park adjacent to Rid-All Farm, 2881 E. 82nd Street.
