Mariachi and Latin Jazz Will Fill Severance Music Center to Mark Hispanic Heritage Month

Sat 9/14 @ 7PM

Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15 through October 15, but the Cleveland Orchestra organization isn’t waiting to celebrate.

It kicks off the celebration a day early with a free community concert at Severance Music Center featuring one of the area’s biggest names in Hispanic Music: Latin jazz timbales player/vocalist Sammy DeLeon y su Orquesta. He’ll bring his Puerto Rican background to the event while Las Sirenas Mariachi Band will represent Mexico. Don’t expect to stay in your seat; there’ll be mass dancing in the aisles.

Get there early to hang out and warm up your dance steps in the Grand Foyer with music by DJ IamYulissa. Lorain salsa historian Eileen Torres hosts the event.

Tickets are free and general admission. Get them here.
