Meadow City Native Plants, which opened in North Collinwood two years ago, brought something new to the area: a collection of hoop houses where they raise a variety of native plants and sell them on a former vacant lot on East 152nd just off the Route 2 freeway and adjacent to the Waterloo Arts District. They’ve got plants to every garden: sun, shade, wet, dry, arranged for easy browsing. And their staff is always on hand to make recommendations.
On their Free Native Plant Day coming up, they’ll be holding workshops on topics such as growing native plants from seed and dividing plants. The first 50 families to show up will get a free plant.
