Walkabout Tremont Goes Hawaiian for its Final Outdoor Event of the Year

August is the last month for Walkabout Tremont’s outdoor activities on Professor Avenue when it celebrates “Let’s Luau,” this month’s theme. So wear your Hawaiian shirt to the neighborhood to enjoy tropical-style food and drink specials in the area’s many restaurants and take in all the activity on the street. It includes more than 40 pop-up vendors, Crooked River Circus stilt walkers, live street musicians and a big Walkabout favorite, Dr. U.R. Awesome with his Guinness record-setting giant bubbles. It’s fun just to watch the kids chasing them.

If you like dance, mosey over to Lincoln Park just two blocks away for Inlet Dance’s Arts in August performance at 7pm. If you like art, stop in Kaiser Gallery and cocktail lounge to enjoy a craft cocktail and check out the current exhibit, Descendants, in which 15 artists explore their own backgrounds in their work. There’s an artists talk at 7pm. grab a cocktail and listen in.
