Medina’s Bustling with Two Big Events This Weekend

Sat 8/10 @ 11AM-11PM

Sun 8/11 @ 11AM-5PM

It’s a really busy weekend in downtown Medina. It starts on Saturday with the 3rd Annual South Town Arts & Music Festival, in the South Town district south of Public Square. A dozen local bands will be playing at Various locations throughout the day, with the evening finale concert happening at the ReStore parking lot with Colin Husbands at 5pm, Paper Morning at 6, and headliner Stylee Wild playing from 7:30-11pm. Beer, wine and other drinks will be available there, along with food, and there’ll be a 50/50 raffle to benefit Medina Habitat for Humanity.

Food vendors will be set up along Mill Street from noon-5pm, and from 2-5pm you can bring the kids to Medina Community Church for a family fest. There’ll also be an art walk on Mill Street with artists displaying and demonstrating such skills as sand sculpture, glassblowing, plein air painting tie-dying, blacksmithing and portrait painting, and vendors with handmade items available for sale. Get more info here.

The event is followed on Sunday with the 32nd annual Affair on the Square Craft & Vintage fair from 11am to 5pm. More than 170 booths in and around the Medina Square will be offering art work in all mediums and such items as jewelry, skin care products, home décor, wearables, vintage items and much more. Lots of food trucks will be onsite to fuel shoppers, and there’ll be music as well: Victor Samalot will play his light jazz and Latin guitar music from 11am-1:30pm and Parsons and Polk will play acoustic covers of ’70s artists such as James Taylor and Neil Diamond from 2:30-5pm. And the kids will be amused by activities such as a make & take craft booth, a balloon animal artist and — you know it — face painting! Admission is free. Go here for more info.
