Brent Kirby Brings His 10 x 3 Songwriter Showcase to Cain Park’s Evans Amphitheater

Sun 8/11 @ 1PM

Vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Brent Kirby arrived in Cleveland in the early 2000s and dove right into the local music scene, forming a rockin’ Americana bands called the Jack Fords, performing as a solo acoustic artist, fronting band projects, playing drums with holiday band New Soft Show and eventually helping to start a Gram Parsons tribute project called New Soft Shoe. He’s also become known as a catalyst and driver of the area music scene, booking concert series and special events and giving other artists a boost whenever he can.

One of the ways he does so is through his long-running 10 x 3 songwriter showcase evenings, going on 15 years now. They’re not quite open mics: he books artists in advance for each evening’s lineup, and it’s usually a mix of established performers and newcomers, each of whom performs three songs, including at least two originals. They currently take place at the BOP STOP every other Wednesday, but they’ve been in several other venues over the years.

This week he’s bringing 10 x 3 to the big stage at Cain Park’s Evans Amphitheater where he’ll undoubtedly use his great taste and knowledge of the music scene to put together an outstanding lineup for area performers. And it’s free!
