Annual Taste of Lakewood Shapeshifts Again

Sat 8/10 @ 6:30-10:30PM

Once again, the Taste of Lakewood event, held in the northeast Ohio city that probably has more restaurants per capita than any other, is morphing into something different. For years, it was a free, family-oriented event taking place at Madison Park. Then for its 18th annual event last year, it moved to the Studio West 117 complex on Detroit with food, music and vendors scattered throughout its spaces — again free.

But for its taste of Lakewood 20th Anniversary Part this year (yeah, we know — we suspect it’s pandemic math), it’s come up with a whole different model. This year it’ll be at the Lake Erie Building, popularly known as the Screw Factory, home of a whole colony of artists and other creatives. The relatively pricy tickets ($75) include food from a variety of Lakewood’s best restaurants, along with two drink tickets for beer, wine, cocktails, coffee and soft drinks, as well as music to dance to. VIP tickets get you in an hour early at 5:30pm for a cocktail hour and live jazz. The evening will include auction and raffle prizes to raise even more money to support Lakewood businesses through the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce as well as provide scholarships for Lakewood students.
