Fri 6/7
Friday June 7 is a big day for art openings at small galleries all over town. You’ll need to map out your route and schedule in advance if you want to hit them all!
Start at the Morgan Conservatory where Liminal Spaces: Art and the Environment makes its debut. The group show features local and national artists using book, paper and print to look at their own confluence with the environment and how social, political and physical considerations impact it. Artists include Lori Kella, Christine Mauersberger, Susanna Harris, Anna Chapman, Felicity Gunn, Jaz Graf, Ian Welch, Erin K. Schmidt, Robin Jourdan and Suzanne Glémot. The opening reception is from 5-8pm and the show will be on view through July 27.
Then head west to the Old Brooklyn neighborhood where the new-ish Pinwheel Gallery (2019 Broadview) will be debuting a summery exhibition called Picnic, featuring nearly 100 works by 36 local and regional artists. The opening reception runs from 5-9pm and the show will be on view through July 26.
Then dash out to Parma where Prama Artspace presents Nothing But Flowers, with work by more than two dozen area artists. The reception starts at 6pm, with Magickally Morbid playing at 8pm. Things go a bit later here so you can make this your last stop.
All the receptions are free and open to all.
