Join Artists to Brainstorm About New Arts & Culture Fest

Fri 2/23 @ 4:30PM

As we (and others) reported last week, the FRONT and CAN Triennials have both pulled the plug after two editions (2018 and 2022), citing a worsening funding climate for cultural events. White FRONT focused primarily in national and international artists, presenting their work at venues around the region, the CAN event shone a light on local artists.

Disappointed at losing this opportunity to bring together local creators for a large-scale event, an informal group of artists is meeting at Negative Space Gallery in Asia Town Center to throw around ideas about the possibility of some kind of citywide arts and culture festival. As usual, one of the main drivers of this initiative is artist/educator/curator/gallerist/organizer/arts activist Liz Maugans who posts, “Join us in creating a citywide artist-led Arts and cultural festival! Bring your ideas and please share with your music, film and video, writing/poetry, performing, design and visual arts friends. First get together is @negspacecleveland February 23rd at 4:30. Bring some ideas and please share.”

All are welcome. Get more information here.
