The space in University Heights’ Cedar Center that was formerly Lox, Stock and Brisket and the Rice Shop underwent another transformation in December 2020 when Chef Demetrios Atheneos, formerly of Forage Public House, Oak Barrel and Bold, grabbed it and turned it into Chicken Ranch. The casual, family-friendly place serves chicken in numerous permutations: sandwiches, chicken tenders (both crispy and grilled), chicken thighs, chicken n waffles. Don’t like chicken that much? Try some shrimp, mahi mahi, baby back ribs or a beef burger — or even popcorn cauliflower if you’ve got a vegetarian friend. There’s a choice of more than a dozen sauces, a half dozen sides and several desserts as well.
