Cleveland’s Whiskey Daredevils Join the Lustre Kings to Celebrate Elvis’s Birthday

Fri 1/5 @ 8PM

Cleveland cowpunk quartet the Whiskey Daredevils, led by tireless vocalist Greg Miller, celebrating its 20th anniversary this past year. And before that — starting in 1990 — Miller, along with drummer Leo Walsh, played in the similarly styled Cowslingers. Both are/were known for a rollicking mixture of honky-tonk country, rockabilly, garage and punk rock, mixed with honkytonk- flavored ballads and love songs. The Daredevils are rounded out by bassist Sugar Wildman and guitarist Gary Siperko. In early 2023 they released their 17th full-length record, Good Times. So thy never let up!

And they won’t be letting up this week when they join Mark Gamjager & the Lustre Kings at the Beachland Tavern for an “Elvis Presley Birthday Bash,” celebrating what would’ve been “The King’s” 89th birthday. The Lustre Kings, whose specialty for nearly 30 years has been early rock, will be bringing a full catalog of Presley tunes, while the Whiskey Daredevils will have newly pressed 12” vinyl copies of Good Times.  Both will bring a serious lifetime dedication to rocking out.
