Final Tremont Church Tour Visits Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church

Sat 11/4 @ 2PM

Few neighborhoods in Greater Cleveland have such a diverse collection of churches as Tremont, a remnant of the days when virtually every block was home to a different ethnic group.

For the past month, the Tremont History Project has been leading its free historic church tours, sharing he back story of some of them. Each tour in 60-90 minutes and talks about both the building history and the history of the people who occupied it.

The final tour visits one of the neighborhood’s most prominent landmarks, the 104–year-old Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, home of the Memorial Day Greek Festival. Right of East 14th by the freeway, it serves as a gateway to the neighborhood with its cross-topped domes visible from the freeway.

The tour is free and open to all. Meet at the church which has a large free parking lot.
