Kenny Crumpton of “Fox 8 News in the Morning” will host this year’s Cleveland Arts Prize award ceremony taking place at the Cleveland Museum of Art’s Gartner Auditorium. Following the VIP cocktail reception from 6:30-7:45pm, with music provided by the Liza Grossman (CAP ’18) String Trio, the awards ceremony will take place at 8pm.
This year’s winners who will be honored include Atefeh Farajolahzadeh (Visual Arts), Stephanie Ginese (Literature), Dana Jessen (Music), Dr. Jacinda Walker (Design) and Janet Macoska (Visual Art)
In addition, CAP Special Prizes will be awarded: The Robert P. Bergman Prize to Judaica curator and The Temple-Tifereth Israel Gallery Director Susan Braham Koletsky; The Martha Joseph Prize for Distinguished Service to the Arts to Richard S. Rogers for his creation of Curated Storefronts in downtown Akron and his extensive collection of ceramics from Asia and the U.S.; and The Barbara S. Robinson Prize for the Advancement of Arts to Joseph and Nancy Keithley for serving as strong advocates for collaborations between many of Cleveland’s arts, cultural, educational institutions as well as for their monumental gift of over 100 artworks to The Cleveland Museum of Art.
Performers at the event include jazz trumpeter Dominick Farinacci (CAP ’22) and his band; Bharatanatyam Indian dancer Sujatha Srinivasan (CAP ’22) and her students; poet Kisha Nicole Foster (CAP ’19); and actress/singer-songwriter Mariama Whyte (Verge Fellow 2019). There will also be a memorial tribute to arts advocates William P. Blair III (CAP ‘06) and Barbara S. Robinson (CAP ‘01) by Donna Collins, Executive Director of the Ohio Arts Council.
