Lee Road Business District Brims with Sounds at Heights Music Hop

Sat 9/23 @10AM-noon & 6-10PM

The Heights Music Hop in Cleveland Heights returns this year, focusing on one night and (mostly) one neighborhood. Fourteen businesses (mostly bars and restaurants) on Lee Road, with one exception south of Cedar, will be hosting bands and solo musicians.

They range from cover bands such as The 80’s Ladies (at the Social Room at 8:30) and “Rat Pack”revivalists Rick and Sharon (at Boss Dog Brewing to 6:30) to some of the area’s best singer/songwriter/guitarists such as Diana Chittester and Charlie Mosbrook, both at Heights Arts, at 6:30 and 8pm respectively, and a lineup of more outstanding songwriter/performers at CLE Urban Winery, with starting with Tracy Marie at 6:30 and continuing with Ray Flanagan at 8pm and Brent Kirby at 9:15.

There’ll be bands too, such as indie mainstay Dave Swanson’s latest ensemble, Mystery Airship at MOJO World Eats at 6, and a lineup of AJ and the Woods, Hyperius Blake and the Sound Experiment and Lucky Is the Lion. Opus 216 offers their take on classical music at Marchard Cheese Manor at 8. And apparently it wouldn’t be a festival, benefit party or special event of any type this year without an appearance by high-energy R&B-infused rockers Apostle Jones. So yes, they’ll be playing at the Tavern Company at 9.

Getting things warmed up, there’ll be live music at the Noble Road Gardeners’ Market at the Roanoke Noble Gardens the same day from 10am-noon. The event is all free.
