Visit Two Arts Festivals in One Day in Geauga County

Sun 8/6 @ 10AM-5PM

Once again, two Geauga County festivals will take place back to back on the same day, giving visitors double the opportunity for enjoying nature and art.

Geauga Park District’s annual Nature & Arts Fest, taking place from 10am-4pm at its West Woods, now focuses more on the confluence of art and nature. There’ll be plenty of art and crafts vendors inside and out; offerings include things such as knitted and crocheted items, prints, paintings, fiber art, cutting boards, pottery, clothing and more. Outside, visitors will encounter nature exhibits hosted by local organizations and activities including live animals, hikes, interactive booths and pond dipping (?), as well as a food truck, and kettle corn and shaved ice stands. There’ll be live New Orleans-style jazz from Hot Jazz 7 and Celtic music from LochEire.

At the same time (10am-5pm) the 42nd annual Chardon Square Arts Festival will be taking place outdoors on Historic Chardon Square. You’ll be able to check out work by more than 100 local and out-of-state artists in a wide range of mediums. The show will have food vendors, but the square is also ringed by excellent restaurants, as well as small shops you should also visit. Note that no dogs are allowed during the festival.

Both festivals are free.
