Akron’s EarthQuaker Devices Hosts Two Days of Music, Clinics & More

Fri 8/4 @ 7PM

Sat 8/5 @ 11AM

Akron-based Earthquaker Devices, a small company with a big reach, manufactures its sound processing pedals right here in northeast Ohio. But they are used by musicians, famous and obscure, all over the world.

But Earthquaker also loves to celebrate homegrown talent at its annual Earthquaker Day which is actually two days. It kicks off Friday evening with an “Earthquaker’s Eve” concert at Musica in Akron featuring Quiet Zoo, Non Bruises and Angie Haze, with EarthQuaker’s Jeff France spinning records between sets.

Then all day Saturday you can stop down at Earthquaker’s headquarters for a series of events starting at 11am with a couple of pedal clinics, including one with Earthquaker founder, musician Jamie Stillman and another with Musician Jon Sonnenberg. Catch some music by Cello Azul at 1pm, by Me:You at 2:30pm and by Youngstown supernovas the Vindys at 4. There’ll be shop tours, gear vendors, specials on b-stock and food trucks onsite as well.

And if you’re still not tired out, the action moves over to Musica in the evening for an afterparty at 7pm featuring Pyramid, Tiny the Dream, and Muzzle, with France again spinning records.

It’s all free. Get more info here.
