Akron Civic’s Annual Benefit Has a Venetian Masquerade Theme

The Akron Civic Theatre’s signature gala Spirits of the Civic is back again as “The Venetian Ball,” with a Venetian masquerade theme.

Guests are invited to dress up in carnival finery for a three-part evening in a “magical and mysterious world of wandering performers and intriguing happenings.” It with Act I: featuring signature cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, Italian arias in the Grand Lobby, Alla Boara’s traditional Italian folk music in the Knight Stage and auction items to bid on. Act II festures a “strolling dinner” inspired by the Italian cuisine of D’Agnese’s Trattoria.  Act III offers dancing under the starry ceiling of the Akron Civic’s main auditorium or the chance to join in some karaoke in the Knight Stage, while enjoying desserts and coffees.

There’s also a VIP reception at 5:30 for the big spenders. And all proceeds benefit Akron Civic’s noncommercial programming and its program to provide free tickets for families and seniors who otherwise couldn’t afford to attend its shows.
