Caribe Bake Shop in Cleveland’s Clark-Fulton neighborhood, is a family-owned restaurant that serves up home-style Puerto Rican classics in an informal atmosphere.
Originally a community mainstay as a bakery, it now offers a full menu built upon its two beloved breads (sweet bread and “water” bread), upon which it heaps meats, vegetables and condiments of all kinds. Or chose from the fried specials, including empanadillos, rellenos de Papa and alacapurrias, plus ribs, pork chops, fried chicken, beans and rice and much more. Save room for their legendary desserts such as flan, arroz con dulce and donuts.
Caribe is open at 7am seven days, until 7pm every day but Sunday when it closes at 6. It also has an outpost in Oberlin called Caribe Bake Shop 2.
