The Maltz Performing Arts Center in University Circle is offering some special programming for the holiday season.

On Thursday December 2 and Saturday December 18, it presents “fever Candlelight concerts.” The historic building, formerly a Jewish synagogue, will be lit by candlelight for atmosphere to enhance a program of “wintertime classics” by composers such as Tchaikovsky and Vivaldi. There are two performances each night; tickets are $30-$50.

On Saturday December 4, the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra will perform a program called “Sing a Song for the Holidays.” They’ll be joined by three outstanding local singers — Vanessa Rubin, Evelyn Wright and Ava Preston to perform a program ranging from Duke Ellington to Tadd Dameron to the Temptations and including their annual version of “The Little Drummer Boy.” Tickets are $20-$45.
