Karamu House has got a new music series launching this week they’re calling the “Good News Concert Series,” which will explore music influenced by jazz and gospel.
Gospel musician Johnny Parker and Tri-C JazzFest have worked together to put together the first concert of the series.
It will feature the gospel-oriented Phillip K. Jones Quartet and the Dave Thomas Ensemble, led by pianist Thomas. “Parker has given each artist complete artistic control to explore the full expanse of their creativity and present music steeped in the traditions of gospel and jazz,” says the promotion for the event.
The concert is free and open to all but registration is required. Go here. Masks are required in the building at all times, and visitors must show a vaccination card of recent negative COVID test.
