CoolCleveland contributors Jenna Thomas and Jack Brancatelli interviewed all seven candidates competing to be Cleveland’s next mayor: Zack Reed, Ross DiBello, Kevin Kelley, Justin Bibb, Sandra Williams, Basheer Jones, and Dennis Kucinich. Jenna and Jack met each candidate in the field to ask them the same three questions. View video #2 here.
This second video compiles the candidates’ answers to the next question: “What will be the toughest problem for you to tackle while in office, and how will you do it?”
We wanted to know what really motivated these candidates and what gets them excited to take on the difficult job of being mayor of Cleveland. Candidates could quickly name an issue that was important to them but did not always give us a specific action they will take in office to address it.
As of the beginning of 2021, there are 249,346 eligible voters across the City of Cleveland. On September 14th, voters will pick between the seven candidates, and the two with the most votes will move on to the general election held in November. Early voting is underway for this election―all registered voters can visit the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections (BOE) to vote early. To find your polling location, visit the BOE website here:
