Rockefeller Greenhouse Re-Opens

Fri 5/7

Last year, the Rockefeller Greenhouse at the north end of Rockefeller Park (just off the MLK exit of the Shoreway) was completely close due to the pandemic. You couldn’t even walk the grounds and explore its incredible, diverse collection of spring-blooming irises; you could only peer at them through the fence.

The good news is that they’re re-opening, just in time for iris season, starting Friday May 7. They’ll return to their regular schedule, open daily from 10am-4pm. A few things have changed though. The number of visitors in indoor areas will be limited and masks are required. They’ll also temporarily not be allowing photo shoots (including wedding shoots but you can take photos of the irises!), use of tripods or easels, eating or drinking. And for the time being, no special events.

Otherwise, stop by to enjoy the copious outdoor spaces, with statuary, gazebos, and plantings of all types. Admission and parking are free.
