Carlos Jones & the P.L.U.S. Band Open Lakewood Front Porch Virtual Concert Series

Fri 6/4 @ 7PM

LakewoodAlive’s Front Porch Concert Series is typically held outdoors at the main branch of the Lakewood Public Library. But caution led it to booking its season as a virtual concert series for the second year.

That’s too bad because they have one of the strongest lineups we’ve seen in a summer music festival. It kicks off this week with Carlos Jones & the P.L.U.S. Band, whose upbeat rockin’ roots reggae, positive vibrations and uplifting attitude are synonymous with Cleveland outdoor summer shows. It’ll be the first show for the band this summer, although their first show with a live audience won’t be until they play Whiskey Island July 5.

They’ll be followed by the dramatic, eclectic rock of Apostle Jones (June 11), guitarist/composer/ vocalist (and Lakewood resident) Diana Chittester (June 18), infectious swing/jump blues/jazz ensemble Red Light Roxy (June 25), hip hop/pop artist Jul Big Green (July 2), jazz pianist Theron Brown (July 9), bluesy/soulful rockers Becky Boyd & Groove Train (July16), zydeco-influenced “party-gras” band Mo’Mojo (July 23) and folk rockers Front Porch Lights (July 30). Most of the artists booked mix creative cover versions with appealing original music, making this lineup especially exciting.
