One of Akron’s Christmas season highlights is the performance by the ad hoc Christmas band Missile Toe, aha “the World’s Greatest Christmas Band,” which takes places every year at the Akron Art Museum. This year, you won’t be able to GO to the museum to hear them. But on the other hand, you’ll be able to tune in on your computer to hear them TWICE.
The first opportunity will be on Thursday December 17 when they’ll perform as part of Akron Art Museum After Work’s Holiday Variety Show. The event will also feature two “community spotlights”: a holiday poetry reading from Weathervane Playhouse’s Richard Morris Jr. from Weathervane Playhouse and TV/film writer Joanna Wilson’s look at Christmas scenes from TV and film.
Then on Saturday December 19, Missile Toe will do a full hour-long performance recorded in the Akron Art Museum galleries. Both events are streaming only on AAM’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.
