“The Empire Strikes Back” at Blossom Music Center with the Cleveland Orchestra

Fri 8/30 @ 7:30PM

Sat 8/31 @ 7:30PM

Sun 9/1 @ 7:30PM

John Williams is perhaps the most noted film score composer of all time, having written scores to literally dozens of the best-known and most successful movies, whose themes are often instantly recognizable. Jaws? That’s his. E.T.? That one too. Close Encounters of the Third Kind? He wrote that. From Harry Potter to Jurassic Park to Home Alone to Indiana Jones, his music enhanced and underscored the action.

And then of course there was the Star Wars series. And that’s the music the Cleveland Orchestra will take on this weekend at Blossom Music Center, when it performs the score to 1980’s The Empire Strikes Back, while the flm plays on the big screen. If that’s not enough adrenalin-rousing excitement, there’ll be fireworks following both concerts, weather permitting.

Tickets are $26-$121.
