Come make marvelous edifices out of sand, or just watch others do so at the 5th annual Cleveland Sand Festival at Edgewater Beach.
More than 50 teams will start working at 8am, vying to built the most spectacular structure. Public voting begins at 1pm, followed by the parade of castles by the jury at 2 and the announcement of awards at 3. It’s a family-friendly event in which all are invited to participate, but if you want to build, you must pre-register.
There’s also a volleyball tournament at 10am, plus a tug-of-war and cornhole. While there are fees to participate in the events, kibitzing is free.
