Fri 1/25-Fri 5/31
Once upon a time, train travel was luxurious and elegant, with comfortable sleeping compartments and fine dining rooms that rivaled upscale restaurants.
That era of relaxed, pampered travel is long gone, alas. But starting this Friday, and every Friday through May 31 you can re-live a small part of that experience with Dinner on the Train on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.
A three-course dinner provided by Ben Bebenroth’s Spice Catering Co., with ingredients sourced from his own Spice Acres Farm and other local producers and growers, will be served on vintage California Zephyr cars. The menus will change with the season and there will be special menus for Valentine’s Day, Lent and Cinco de Mayo.
The trains will leave the Rockside Road station at 7:30pm; guests will able to board at 7pm to have cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. CVSR volunteer will be on hand to share the train’s history.
Ask CVSR volunteers about the rich history around, above and within the very train you are riding in! Spice servers will also be on board to walk you through every course and describe where the food was grown within Cuyahoga Valley National Park. It’s $115 which includes a two-hour ride, dinner and complimentary bar service.
