Tue 2/16 @ 6 & 8PM
Up-and-coming New York-based jazz trombonist/composer Nick Finzer was inspired by the music of Duke Ellington while he was still in high school. That passion pushed him to attend and earn degrees from the Eastman School of Music and Jiulliard School before launching his career as a bandleader with his debut album Exposition in 2012.
Since then, he’s released a second album, The Chase, and toured North America, Europe, New Zealand and Australia and performed at major jazz venues and festivals.
He’ll be back in Cleveland with the BOP STOP on Wed 2/15 and at Blu Jazz + on Thu 2/16 (where he’ll also do a free master class at 6pm), with a six-piece band that also includes guitarist Alex Wintz, pianist Glenn Zaleski, tenor sax & bass clarinet player Lucas Pino, bassist Dave Baron and drummer Jimmy McBride. Tickets to each show are $12.
