How can you get the kids to put on their snowsuits and get in the car to head out to the Geauga Park District’s West Woods for its Frozen Fest?
Just tell them they’ll get to meet Princess Elsa from the Disney film Frozen! OK, that might be stretching it a bit but there will definitely be princess-related activities, including singing “winter princesses” who will be performing in the nature center lobby and a princess/prince crown-making workshop.
With so much going on, though, princesses may not be at the center of their attention. For instance, the Siberian Husky Club of Greater Cleveland will be there with real, live sled dogs; the Kid at Art mobile art bus offers the chance to spark their creativity; and outdoors you can watch ice-carving and outdoor cooking demos, take a self-guided hike, participate in a “bird in the hand” activity, or go snowshoeing for free, weather permitting.
Come inside to get an intricate face painting and enjoy free hot chocolate and cookies, and listen to live music by the Oak Island Snake Jumpers. The Nature Center is wheelchair-accessible. The event is free.
