Neil Zaza is northeast Ohio’s best-kept secret, who isn’t really all THAT much of a secret. The guitar virtuoso played in the popular melodic rock band that bore him name in the late ’80s and early ’90s. But, despite the fact that he hasn’t played in a full-time band since Zaza broke up in July 1992, he’s forged an international career for himself as a solo instrumental artist. Go to his website and you’ll find an impressively long list of albums he’s released; follow his Facebook page to find out what far-flung local he’s currently touring in. (This fall he did yet another tour of China).
But now he’s back home and he’s again doing one of his periodic One Silent Night Christmas shows, this time at the Hard Rock Rocksino being billed as “Where Hendrix Meets Beethoven Under the Christmas Tree.” He pulls out all the stops for the spectacular holiday shows, which blend holiday favorites with classic rock, classical melodies and his own originals, with special guests always on hand. With the big symphonic sound, it’s like a hipper Trans Siberian Orchestra. And he’s promising an all-new show for this year. Tickets are $25-$45.
