The five-musician British string ensemble Fretwork reaches across five centuries for the music it plays. For more than 30 years, the group has performed English consort music of the 16th and 17th century such as that of Henry Purcell, William Lawes, and John Tavener, along with works by contemporary composers, including dozens it has commissioned.

When the group performs at the Cleveland Museum of Art’s Gsrtner Auditorium, it will play music 16th/17th-century music by Tavener, Lawes, Christopher Tye, Henry Purcell amd Robert Parsons, and contemporary work by Maja Ratkje, Nico Muhly and Gavin Bryars. The performance is intended to complement the current exhibition Myth and Mystique: Cleveland’s Gothic Table Fountain. Tickets are $35-$45.
