New Orleans quartet the Imagination Movers had an idea that seems to occur to many serious musicians when they have kids: forming a group that performed children’s music that wasn’t cloying, cutesy or condescending. They quickly became popular in their hometown, and not only was their momentum only temporarily stalled by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, but the group has proved nationally popular following a partnership with Disney that led to a 75-episode show that’s airing in dozens of countries on the Disney Junior Channel. They’ve also released nine albums.
Now they’re bringing their high-energy, interactive show to Cain Park. Tickets are $20-$28. If your kids are real fans, a meet and greet will set you back another $25.
