The Hooley on Kamm’s Corners™ returns on Saturday, May 14, 2016 and runs from noon until 8 p.m. on Lorain Avenue. “Hooley” is Irish slang for party or celebration. This one started out as a celebration of the new streetscape installed years ago. Today, The Hooley™ remains an annual day of live music, festival food, entertainment, and activities for all ages. There is no charge to enter the area of The Hooley™.

The opening ceremony begins at noon on the main stage at Rocky River Drive. Expect Irish music, including pipes and drums, ballads, laments, reels, and an infusion of bluegrass and rock music. Here’s the Main Stage entertainment line-up: The Pipes and Drums of the Cleveland Police; JP & the Chatfield Boys, The Whiskey Island Ramblers, Cleveland Firefighters Memorial Pipes and Drums, Mary’s Lane, and The Sunrise Jones.
The Family Stage at West 165th Street, sponsored by Dollar Bank, will provide entertainment for the younger crowd. Irish dancers from multiple dance schools will perform, each showcasing its own distinctive style. Also on stage will be Newton D. Baker School of the Arts, Saint Joseph Academy’s Chorale, Taylor’s Troupe from Gunning Park Recreation Center, Our Lady of Angels Fine Arts Council Student Performance, Cretan Dancers of Cleveland, RW Magic, Tower City Chorus and the All American Karate Studio. Enjoy The West Side Irish American Club Pipe Band and DJ Lo-Key spinning tunes and hosting interactive dances and games till 8 p.m. Nearby will be the Youth Center, featuring a bounce house, a thirty foot tall fire truck slide and engaging games and activities for youth of all ages.

Purchase unique goods and pick up interesting information from the more than 100 booths inside the Hooley™ footprint. Indulge in a variety of offerings from more than a dozen food vendors. Come hungry! All the restaurants will be open, too.
Back again in 2016, Cleveland Bazaar is hosting a handmade arts and crafts show on West 168th Street, sponsored by AT&T. Bring a tote bag for your purchases of unique items, including clothing, beach glass jewelry, toys, home decor, and more!

Last year, more that 30,000 people visited The Hooley™! Admission is free! Parking is at a premium, so consider riding your bike and parking at the designated racks sponsored by Bike Cleveland. No matter how you arrive, please join us for a great day of music, food, and family friendly fun.
