New York Vocal Group Ampersand Performs St. John’s Ohio City

Ampersand

Sat 10/3 @ 7PM

Ampersand, founded by sopranos Madeline Apple Healey and Anna Lenti, is a New York-based vocal ensemble “of flexible proportions,” as they describe themselves. They also describe themselves as “loosely based in New York, NY and Cleveland, OH,” whatever that means. One thing it does mean, apparently, is that we are blessed with local performances such as the one they’ll be doing at the recently restores St. John’s Church in Ohio City.

There they’ll be joined by Fiona Gillespie Jackson and organist Nicholas Haigh (hence the “flexible proportions” thing) for a program of trios and duets for high voices, including folk songs and works by Schütz, Monteverdi and Praetorius.

Tickets are $10.
