The latest production by Bowling Green State University’s Firelands Theatre chronicles the landmark story of marriage equality’s early roots in California. 8 is a new play by Dustin Lance Black – the Academy Award-winning screenwriter of Milk. Black uses court transcripts and first-hand interviews to explore both sides of the debate of California’s Proposition 8, and the subsequent trial; Perry vs. Schwarzennegger (now Hollingsworth vs. Perry).
The subject matter naturally sparks an important dialogue, so a post-show discussion will be held following the performance. Don’t miss this powerful, one-night-only performance and lively discussion.
