Louisiana Roots-Blues Guitarist Tab Benoit @BeachlandCLE

Thu 12/12 @ 8PM

Cajun guitarist Tab Benoit out of Houma, Louisiana has always been drawn more to the blues than the folk-Cajun sounds of bands like BeauSoleil.

That’s probably helped him build a reputation that’s extended far beyond his community and the borders of his home state.  He’s been touring and recording since the early ’90s, collaborating with many noted musicians. He’s even reached back to his Cajun roots, as well as dipped into soul, R&B, roots rock and New Orleans sounds. Those sounds give his blues a distinctive, multi-faceted sound.

He’s also an environmental activist whose organization Voice of the Wetlands advocates against the continuing disappearance of the coastal wetlands that protect New Orleans from flooding.

He’ll be at the Beachland Ballroom, with Charleston, South Carolina’s indie roots-music crowd-pleasers Sol Driven Train opening.

Tickets are $20-$30.
