Classically trained singer-songwriter Melissa Ferrick dropped into the music world in 1993 on Atlantic Records, back when such major labels were snapping up promising woman artists. The intense folkie didn’t last too long on Atlantic, dropping down to the indie ranks and eventually, with the advent of Interne-based distribution, formed her own label.
She’s never quit though. She’s now got a catalog of moe than adozen albums including her new The Truth Is. And because she’s frankly open lesbian, she’s formed bonds in that community and a loyal fan base she maintains through constant touring.
The Boston native will be at the Grog Shop, with talented Cleveland-based singer/songwriter Diane Chittester opening
Admission is $15.
