First it was wineries, then breweries. The in the 2010s, a wave of distilleries swept northeast Ohio. Red Eagle Distillery opened in 2012, making its spirits from locally grown ingredients: local farms grow the grains they use in their rye and bourbon, and they personally grow the grapes that go into their vodka and brandy.
And it’s located in the Grand River Valley in Geneva, an area known for its multitude of wineries. Stop in at the century barn which houses the small-batch distillery, where you can have a drink at the bar (including craft draft beers) or purchase a bottle to take home.
