In the mood for a little “violent, satanic, down-tuned filth”? You know you have those days when you are!
And if one of those days coincides with Manticore’s appearance at Now That’s Class, count yourself lucky.
The band’s been kicking around Cleveland since 2000, playing music that weaves strands of death, black and thrash metal together in an unholy mess. And if you didn’t know what kind of music they played, one look at their logo should give away the genre – because it certainly doesn’t tell you their name.
They head up a bill that could be dubbed the March of the Bands With Indecipherable Logos, one of the more endearing traits associated with death metal acts.
There’s Boston purveyors of “frostbitten black filth” Nachzehrer . There’s New Jersey black metalers Haethen. There’s Cleveland death-metal quartet Inoculation. And clearly the odd band out — because you can read their logo — is Pittsburgh goth-industrial band ThouShaltNot, whose music features — gasp! — melodies.
Admission is only $5.
